Where/When: Brent and Billy side band "Go Ahead" at the Capitol Theater in Passaic NJ in October of 1987 (?). 2 "weird" moments.
Key information: liberal amounts of mescaline contributed to the weirdness.

Weirdness 1. Before the show: IROC Z28 pulls up while my group is heading to the theater, a stereotypical "Guido" emerges from the passenger window and hurls a pumpkin in my direction. It missed me, instead landing close to my feet. The utter randomness and absurdity of an assault by pumpkin had me paryalyzed with laughter.

Weirdness 2. After the show: as we emerged from the theater, still in the firm grip of injested chemicals, and headed towards where we parked the car, a "weird" and distressing sight awaited us. Apparently the operators of the neighboring KFC where we left our car had decided to strictly enforce the "Parking For Customers Only, All Others Will Be Towed" policy. Where had once been a lot full of vehicles festooned with SYF's and other Dead-related items, there was now an empty space, populated only by a motley collection of very confused looking concert goers, many of whom were still in the throes of what was now becoming swiftly deteriorating hallucinogenic experiences. Was I saddened or perplexed at how we would locate where our vehicle had been taken? No. Was I concerned over the money that surely would be required to free our car from the clutches of John Q Law? Again, no. Instead, the thought of the dedication and scope of the operation needed to empty an entire parking lot of cars within a time frame of no more than 3 hours was so impressive, yet alien, that once again we found ourselves on the ground laughing.

The Southern version of Weirdness 1 - Charlotte in the Mariott parking lot after the show. We are hanging out in that restless post show state. A hissing sound comes from a 280zx. 200# tank in the center between the seats. Security too tight at the show to "vend". Plenty of leftovers. We indulge. In the midst a nice '69 Camaro with a big cam in it rumbles by & cues up down the service road 3' from us for a brutal 1/4 mile pass directly by us. The effect of a massive full throttle V8 blowing by us so close you can touch it with heads full of nitrous wah-wah-wah is complimentary to say the least.

I thought you were going to say all you were worried about in #2 was getting to the next show car or not.
